Lagare means open fermenter in Portuguese, which is applicable as this wine is made in the traditional style of foot stomping the grapes during the fermentation process. This Port style wine is made from predominantly Pinotage and matured in old barrels for a number of years.
Tasting notes: Strong upfront fruit with intense and solid core of black fruit, hints of plum pudding and liqourice, good acidity and balance. Unique, not typical port-like, rather exotic.
